The biennial Rotary Gala and Benefit Auction is about to return to Silver City with a profusion of auction items to be made available. The auction is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Grant County Veterans Memorial Convention Center on Highway 180.

The Rotary Club of Silver City reports that the value of items to be auctioned now totals in excess of $100,000. Items range from jewelry to resort vacations, to ocean cruises and even a VIP visit to a FOX NFL pregame show with Terry Bradshaw.

This year's auction will benefit

• Literacy Link – Leamos for its Let's Read program;
• The Volunteer Center of Grant County for its Greenhouse Project; and
• The Imagination Library of Grant County for its Plant a Seed – Read! program for preschool children.

These organizations fulfill vital functions for the Grant County community, and their programs will receive a major boost from the proceeds of the auction. The last Rotary Auction in 2012 raised more than $40,000 resulting in contributions of $9,000 to each to four beneficiary organizations.

The Auction has the support of majors sponsors WNM Communications, AmBank, the Silver City Sun-News, effective environments®, and Holland America Lines. Seventeen Restaurant Sponsors will provide tastes of their signature dishes throughout the evening. There will also be a wine and beer cash bar.

Additionally, the Auction has the support of 14 Table Sponsor and the Silver City Daily Press.

Admission is $20 per person. Tickets can be obtained from Leslie Bush at Western Bank (575-388-3521) or from the auction beneficiaries or members of the Rotary Club of Silver City. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
