Silver City, NM July 21, 2014 – Effective advocacy builds the capacity, effectiveness and impact of an organization. Nonprofits are an essential voice in the policy making process because they have the experience to provide valuable insight into the needs of their communities. This training will provide an introduction to policy advocacy strategies and guidance on the legal parameters governing 501c3 nonprofit organizations.
- Learn how your organization can advance its mission by advocating for or against public policy issues.
- Build your organization's capacity by lobbying and engaging community members on important local and statewide policies.
- Learn how to get your community members registered to vote and engaged in our elections.
- Maintain compliance with IRS advocacy rules and regulations.
The training, presented by Sara Berger, an expert in non-profit law and Amanda Manjarrez, the former Chief Strategist for the Center for Civic Policy, will be at the Commons, 501 East 13th St in Silver City on July 29, 2014 from 8:30am-noon. Refreshments will be provided.
