Christ will be the focus of the Southwest Bible Conference scheduled for September 12-14. More specifically, the topic to be studied will be the "Offices of Christ". Five speakers will define what roles Christ assumed as he entered into and triumphed in his redemptive work.

The location of Southwest Bible Conference will be the Indian Hills Baptist Church, 2 Arroyo Seco Road, just off 180 in Silver City. Each session will include preaching and congregational singing in a worshipful format with the goal of increasing understanding of who Christ is, why he suffered and died, what the Resurrection means and, ultimately, why these things are sufficient for our Salvation.

Conference speakers include pastors, preachers, and worship leaders from New Mexico and Texas. The belief that Scripture is the inerrant word of God informs their preaching. Speakers will be:

Michael Head, Pastor of Indian Hills Baptist Church, Silver City. He has a M. Div. in Biblical Languages from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary and he is currently working on his dissertation to complete his work for a Doctorate in Ministry with an emphasis on Historical Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary.

Tanner Thetford has served in several Christian leadership capacities, including evangelism and apologetic organizations. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Theological Studies at Reformed Theological Seminary. He is a lay preacher and teacher at Grace Bible Fellowship in Silver City.

Dan Jungling has been Pastor of Worship at Covenant of Grace Bible Church in Edgewood, NM for over 10 years. Believing that worship transcends music style and age, he leads worship that is not limited to a particular type of music. Blending traditional hymns and contemporary songs, prayer, and scripture, his goal is to glorify God through Christ.

Scott Butler is lead preaching pastor at Covenant of Grace Bible Church, a Reformed, evangelical body of believers in Edgewood, NM. In addition to his current preaching responsibilities, he has been elder, then lead elder since 2007.

Rod Chandler pastors Grace Bible Fellowship in Silver City. He studied at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Western New Mexico University. Pastor Chandler's thirty-four years as a preacher has led him to believe the expository method gives the greatest understanding. He enlivens his careful preaching of the Word with the context of Biblical history.

Bill Lawless is an elder responsible for teaching and preaching at Grace Covenant Church in Midland, Texas. Through his work as elder he strives to teach scripture so others understand clearly and can apply the teachings to their everyday lives.

The public is invited to any and all sessions of the Southwest Bible Conference. See complete schedule at www.gracebiblefellowship.org On-line registration is appreciated. There is no charge to attend. Please note there is a Leadership Roundtable Saturday morning for pastors, elders, and church leaders.
