We will head to Lake Roberts, hoping that wintering duck are continuing to use the lake despite the reduction in water level. We will meet at 7.00am at the Fine Arts Center parking lot for carpooling. Bring suitable clothing, lunch, and drinks. We expect to be back in Silver City by 2pm. Note that we may need to be flexible on this trip because of weather
conditions. Check our website nearer the time for any updates or contact Brian Dolton at 575-388-4210.

We will undertake the popular Animas/Bootheel trip. This is a long, full day of birding, mostly from the roadside. We will meet at 6.30am at the Fine Arts Center parking lot for carpooling. We'll start birding at the Animas turnoff of I-10 and continue all the way to Cloverdale by the Mexican border. We should see a wide range of birds including sparrow, longspur and lark flocks, possibly cranes, and a number of raptors. In early December Animas Creek was running well, so keep your fingers crossed for duck! Bring suitable clothing, lunch and drinks; we will not be back in Silver City until 6.30-7pm.

There will be no February birding trip, but there is a visit to the Axle Canyon Preserve on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
