The Grant County Community Foundation is pleased to announce news from Kevin Cook, Community Development Manager at Freeport-McMoRan, regarding matching grants for Give Grandly! Give Local.

Give Grandly-Give Local is part of a nationwide fundraising event that has been going on for many years with most states and most local community foundations participating and encouraging local nonprofits to participate. The Grant County Community Foundation sponsors the event locally. It is an opportunity to create a culture of giving by focusing donations to local non-profits in a short 24-hour window (12:01 am to 11:59 pm). Last year Grant County raised $56,852 for 37 non-profits in 24 hours. This year in addition to the online giving  non-profits will provide information on their work and entertainment in Gough Park on May 5  from 11 to 6.

The following participating nonprofits have each received a $1,000 matching grant:
First Born
Friends of the Library
WILL
The Learning Center for Dyslexia and Academic Success
Literacy Link - Leamos
Guadalupe Montessori
Gila Valley Library
Southwest Festival of the Written Word

Freeport is also contributing $1,000 to Imagination Library even though they are not participating in Give Grandly!

KURU has an additional $500 matching grant, and the Gila Valley Library another $1,000 matching grant.

Congratulations to all of the matching grant candidates.

Please join us on May 5, 2015 and Give a little. Give a lot. Give local. Give Grandly!
