This year's annual Ice Cream Social will be held on Monday, July 4, from 11 am to 4 pm, at the Silver City Museum, 312 W Broadway. A long-standing tradition in our community, this event is sponsored by Western Bank and the Silver City Museum Society and is made possible with the talents of local musicians and volunteers. The Deming Coca-Cola Bottling Company, the Pretty Sweet Emporium of Silver City, the Silver City Food Basket, and Albertson's have also contributed to this year's festivities.

Popcorn, ice cream, root beer floats, and sodas are the treats of the day, as well as the beloved cake walk. Other highlights include historic games and activities for children, and music throughout the afternoon. Admission to the Ice Cream Social is free, with tickets for refreshments sold at both the front and back gates.

Last year, over 1,400 people came to the Ice Cream Social. A Silver City institution since 1977, this Fourth of July celebration has something for everyone: a beautiful, shady courtyard, music, food, and traditional fun and games. See what all the fuss is about on Monday, July 4th, from 11 am to 4 pm!

While enjoying the festivities, be sure to check out new and ongoing exhibits at the museum. If you would like to volunteer for the Ice Cream Social or donate a cake for the cake walk, please call John Fletcher at 538-5921.
