The New Mexico Cancer Center has been successfully treating patients in Silver City at Gila Regional Medical Cancer Center for 22 years. Recently Gila Regional announced that UNM will now be providing those services at the cancer center. This came as a surprise to many of the patients who receive care at the cancer center.

Because the Cancer Center and Gila Regional Medical Center are county owned facilities, we feel it is in the best interest of all involved that decision makers hear from those whose lives will be affected by these changes. Patients, Physicians, Staff, and others want to be heard and have their questions answered. Decision makers need to consider all information before making major changes at the Cancer Center. This forum will provide that opportunity.
