Silver City, NM — The 6th annual CLAY Poker Fundraiser is back and this year will include a pre-poker training for new participants wishing to learn the art of poker. If you are a newbie to the game, attend the pre-poker training to knock off $10 from the tournament ticket! Pre-poker is free and will take place on Friday, July 14 from 5 - 8 pm in the back room at the Little Toad Creek Brewery. Local poker aficionado Cindy Gagnon will teach Texas Hold ‘Em style poker to those who attend; please arrive at 5 pm for the full training.

The Texas Hold ‘Em style tournament fundraiser is $50 per player and will take place on Saturday, July 29 from 3 - 9 pm at the Old Elks Lodge. Pizza made by David Mulvenna, prior owner of Pazzo's Pizza, will be provided for registered players. You must be 21 years or older to enter the tournament.

Bets will be geared towards donations and fun – not the risk of wagering. Donated prizes from local businesses will be awarded to the top ten players. First place is a week-long getaway at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona! Other prizes to win are a $600 gift certificate from Syzygy Tile and gift certificates from local restaurants. All donations will be used to support the CLAY Festival and its efforts towards increasing artistic, cultural, and economic sustainability in Southwest New Mexico.

Are you interested in being a dealer during the CLAY Poker Fundraiser? A second training for those interested in dealing will be held on Friday, July 21 – please email info@clayfestival.com.

Mark your calendars with these CLAY Poker events, and join us on Saturday, July 29th for a night of fun competition. You can come as a spectator for free and cheer on your favorite player!
