img 7016 copyPlanning is once again well underway for Saturday, December 14, 2019, when members of the Grant County community will gather to honor veterans during the Christmas holiday season as part of the annual Wreaths Across America Day. The ceremony will be held at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.The mission of Wreaths Across America, a 501©3 organization, is to REMEMBER, HONOR, and TEACH. Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve including their families who sacrifice, and Teach our children the cost of the freedoms we enjoy each day.

Last year 1.8 million wreaths were placed at 1,640 locations across the United States and abroad, including Arlington National Cemetery where every marker had a wreath. Won’t you please join other individuals, organizations and businesses who are helping by sponsoring wreaths to place at Fort Bayard cemetery markers this December? Each wreath costs $15; however, for every two wreaths purchased, an additional third wreath will be donated to the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Unique to Fort Bayard is that local special requests for wreath placements are honored with those placements guaranteed. Additionally, a lovely program is created listing each individual being honored w/ a wreath as well as the name of each sponsor.
