OraliaLopezMaster Mata Ortiz Artist Oralia Lόpez to Demonstrate Painting Technique Saturday as part of Silver City Clay Fest

Silver City -- Master artist Oralia Lόpez from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico will be at the Silver City Museum Annex July 15 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, demonstrating the intricate Mata Ortiz painting technique. Lόpez will demonstrate how she paints the elegant forms, precision designs and beautiful colors that define the famous Mata Ortiz style. She will also be offering a large selection of Mata Ortiz pottery from various artists for purchase, starting at just $20. A portion of the proceeds will be used to support the programs, exhibits and other community events provided by the museum.

Families are also invited to join museum staff from 11 am to 1 pm in the museum courtyard at 312 W. Broadway, where children and adults will be able to create their own pinch pots. All materials and instruction are provided free of charge.
