“Dim Damn Demographics”
There's a new kid on the block.
“Change, A political catchword for Communist propaganda.”
Teurnicht.
In 1863, March 30, Abraham Lincoln declared a National Day of Fasting. He said:
“We have been recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand that preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.
It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”
There's a new kid on the block, he evolved without announcement, recognition or authority—I call him “True Minority.”
I always enjoyed the old term rendered by the folks that didn't have much to say but never the less, more or less, voted as a group. The Silent Majority. Okay, I guess, maybe, being silent is sometimes a good thing, but you'll have to convince me. What has being silent gotten anybody so far?
As I said in times past, it's all about the numbers in politics, and let's see—who won—the dignified silent ones or the rowdy noisy ones?
Now that we got that out of the way:
The New Minority in our list of demographics is truly a unique group. It is made up of all sorts of folks—they're neither red nor yellow nor black nor white, they speak neither this language or that, they are neither democrat nor republican nor libertarian or conservative. Their commonality lies in their beliefs. They believe in one true God. They humble themselves and acknowledge that there is a creator; one who said the universe into existence, said the sun and the moon to be, said the flowers and the trees to grow, said that you and I were to love his creation and care for it, said that all of his creation should know that he is God and that he is God without exception.
This True Minority believes that even in politics lying and cheating and deceiving is not acceptable and will not do these and will not accept it in others. This group knows that in a world where winning trumps values that they will always be tempted to employ the loose values of the other minorities but would rather lose the election than lose what they value as more important than political gain.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36.
This unusual group of minorities would rather fight than switch. Would rather stand on the values laid down by the Creator, will not modify or compromise these values, will stand with any group or persons that subscribe to these values and will take a physical beating to protect and openly live within this value system.
Yes, there seems to be fewer and fewer of us left. If Abraham Lincoln thought the country was degenerating in 1883, he ought to see it now.
As each progressing generation reaches out to the comfortable and easy things of the contemporary world it's all too easy to forget the truths that were hammered into the original documents that set our country apart from every other country in the world. You see, you and I would rather stand with the minority than ignore the teachings of the Fathers. I'd rather be a “True Minority” than compromise what I know is true.
