Copper Rose Rainbow Assembly #62 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls just completed several service projects. Various service projects this spring have included food drive for Gospel Mission, Valentines for rest home residents, helping Kiwanis with their community Easter egg hunt, serving meals at several Masonic and Order of the Eastern Star functions, assisting with the Shriner's annual spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the Scottish Rite Learning Center, helping with Expanding Your Horizons event, participating in the "Giving Hands Mural" project and other service activities.

One project was a food drive that the benefited the Silver City Gospel Mission. They collected boxes of non-perishable foods to donate to the food pantry. Food Drive Service Project chairman was KrystieArambula. Several locations were chosen in the Grant County area that included Am Bank, Silver City Public Library, Kris Krafters, and the Sharpening Center. Food was collected for several weeks and donated to Mission's Food Pantry.

Other service projects this spring included filling Easter eggs for the Kiwanis Club of Silver City's. To help Kiwanis with this free event to benefit youth, Rainbow girls filled 1,250 plastic eggs with candy. Special thanks to Ace Hardware for donating the eggs and Wal Mart for donating the candy. Rainbow girls will assist Kiwanis in their event at Penny Park on April 19th.

There have been many service projects this spring. Rainbow girls and pledge girls assisting with the various projects include Grand Worthy Advisor (State President) Serina Pack; Copper Rose Worthy Advisor, Autumn Hunte; KrystieArambula, Carley Casey, Charlotte Fritz, Marina Grinie, Rose Sierra, Katelynn Clark, Alexis McKinney, Paris Aguirre-Abalos, Harmony Aguirre-Abalos, Karolina Rocha, Eleanor Paavola, and Vanna Logan. Copper Rose members Carley Casey, KrystieArambula and Autumn Hunte also serve as state officers for the organization.

Rainbow girls are dedicated to service. Copper Rose Rainbow Girls are busy making a difference one service project at a time. Rainbow is a non-profit organization that strives to give girls tools, training and encouragement to improve themselves, become better leaders and public speakers. Copper Rose Rainbow Assembly, which meets at the Silver City Lodge Hall, the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, was chartered three years ago, and is open to girls ages 11 to 20 years of age and offers a little sisters group called "Pledge" open to girls age 6 to 10 years of age.
