"Community Heroes" honored on June 29 at First Presbyterian Church included (left to right) Adam White, who has worked for the Silver City Fire Department for nine years; Captain Lance Horton, who has worked for the SCFD for 13 years; Tim Heidrick, interim Fire Chief, who has worked for the SCFD for 15 years; Anthony Murillo who has worked for the SCFD since February of 2013; and Smokecover Foreman Jeff Davis who has been a wildland firefighter for the Forest Service for 22 years.

Community Heroes is a new program initiated by First Presbyterian to honor people who have made Silver City a better place to live.
