* ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  CENTRAL GRANT COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO...

* UNTIL 830 PM MDT


* AT 625 PM MDT...A NEARLY STATIONARY THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED       
  BETWEEN WHITE SIGNAL AND GRANT COUNTY AIRPORT. RADAR ESTIMATES     
  OVER 1 INCH OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THIS AREA IN THE PAST HOUR.      
  FLOODING IS LIKELY TO DEVELOP IN ARROYOS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS   
  ALONG THE BACK ROADS SOUTH OF SILVER CITY...EAST OF HIGHWAY 90...  
  AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 180.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
  RURAL AREAS OF CENTRAL GRANT COUNTY SOUTH OF SILVER CITY...
  WHITEWATER ROAD BETWEEN WHITE SIGNAL AND HIGHWAY 180...
  AIRPORT ROAD WEST OF GRANT COUNTY AIRPORT...

RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING TO
OCCUR...ESPECIALLY ALONG ARROYOS AND NEAR LOW WATER CROSSINGS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS
FLOODED ROADS. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO
CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
