Marc Levesque, EMS first responder from the Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire Rescue Department, was on scene today at two events. He responded to the first, a rollover, and just happened to be passing by during the second, a medevac.

The first was a rollover about four miles north of the Little Walnut Picnic Area, about two miles from Wagon Wheel Lane about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. The driver, according to Levesque was on her way to the veterinarian with her dog when her vehicle flipped over. The Silver City Fire Department and Gila Regional Medical Center Emergency Medical Services were on scene. Levesque said he transported in the back of his vehicle the dog to the vet with injuries, but he did not know how extensive.

Levesque happened to be passing through town and was an observer when the portion of Pope Street in front of Hidalgo Medical Services was blocked off to facilitate the landing of a medevac helicopter to transport a baby with a heart problem to El Paso, Texas.
