On Thursday evening, Gila Regional Medical Center hosted its annual Light Up a Life, "a community celebration in memory of all those whose light continues to shine in our lives."

More than 400 names, along with the sponsors, were listed in the program. Hundreds of photos hung from a tree, which at the end of the ceremony lit up with blue and white lights.

Music played a large part in the program, with The Chamber Singers and the Voices of Love Choir each singing two songs.

GRMC Hospice Chaplain Tyler Connoley moderated the event, which included a welcome by GRMC Chief Executive Officer Brian Cunningham, words of wisdom from Church of the Good Shepherd Pastor Paul Moore and a responsive reading of We Remember Them from the Jewish Book of Prayer led by Richard Mahler.

The culmination of the event was the lighting of the tree, followed by refreshments in the hospital lobby.
