Situation:  Otero County VFDs and crews from the US Forest Service, BLM and BIA are mopping up a 5 acre fire on private land, that burned in mixed conifer trees and grassy fuels. Multiple engines and two hand crews quickly attacked the fire that at one point threatened 12 homes, but caused no evacuations. As of this report, fire activity is minimal. A few crews will stay on the fire throughout the night, patrolling the perimeter, looking for flare ups and hot spots. It is believed that the fire was caused by a downed powerline.  The fire is located in Otero County along Hwy 130 and Black Forest Rd.
