Warning to pet owners north of Silver City town limits

Within the past month two dogs have been poisoned. One lived through it; the other didn’t. This morning a dog was shot between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Its leg is being amputated.

Don’t let your dogs run loose. Keep them in the house or in a pen (which also could leave them vulnerable) to keep them safe from the bad folks out there. Walk them on a leash or train them to heel beside you to prevent their running off and finding poisoned food. Keep your dogs from doing their "business" on other people's property. Some folks don't take kindly to that. Remember to be a good neighbor and make sure your dog is also a good neighbor.
