As of Monday evening, April 28, 2014, Nickolas Seibel became the new publisher of the Silver City Independent Publishing Co.

"Why?" Seibel asked in response to the question. "I can't imagine Silver City without a Silver City Daily Press. I believe in local news. I believe that if there is a place where local print news can work, it's Silver City."

He said folks in the community have invested in the corporation that is in progress.

"I have plans for a larger edition by next week," Seibel said. "I'm hoping to develop a strong group of local columnists who have strong viewpoints on local issues and can articulate them well. I want to have a daily editorial page.

"I want people to have a passion for the Daily Press," he said between phone calls.
