According to Sgt. Brown of New Mexico State Police the only information the department has is that today about mid-afternoon a single engine airplane crashed near Whiskey Creek Airport and near Van's Trailer Park. Because a fire was involved, as a precaution, the trailer park was evacuated.

According to a local source, the crash killed the one adult and three Aldo Leopold students on board the aircraft. It crashed right next to a trailer at the park, which is off Racetrack Road close to old Copper Creek Ranch on Flury. The names of the victims have not been released.
