Still no names released of Aldo Leopold students involved in crash

Aldo Leopold Charter School is deeply saddened by the recent tragic events involving three of our students. We are supporting students and family members. Grief counselors have been on call all day Saturday as needed and the school staff have been actively communicating with parents and students.

A fund has been established to help support the families with financial needs. Those concerned can make a donation to the Silver City Branch of Western Bank "Aldo Leopold Student Fund" located at 330 US Highway 180 Silver City, NM. Support would be appreciated.

Out of respect to the families involved, we will not release any personal student information until the New Mexico State Police officially make a statement. At that time, Aldo Leopold Charter School Governing Board Chair Shauna McCosh or School Director Eric Ahner plan make a formal announcement to the public.

Aldo Leopold Charter School will conduct another school community support session on Sunday, May 25, at 6pm at the Grant County Administration Building.

We are truly grateful for the very kind words and good wishes pouring in from community members, elected officials and educators from all over the state.
