* Arroyo And Small Stream Flood Advisory For...
East Central Grant County In South Central New Mexico...

 

* Until 500 Pm Mdt

* At 257 Pm Mdt...National Weather Service Doppler Radar Indicated
Thunderstorms With Heavy Rainfall Across The Advisory Area. Doppler
Radar Estimated About A Half Inch Of Rain Had Fallen On The Silver
Fire Burn Scar...Which Is More Prone To Flooding Than Other
Terrain.

* Locations Impacted Include...
San Lorenzo...
Cooney...
San Juan...
Mimbres...
Iron Creek Campground...
Rocky Canyon Campground...

Runoff From This Excessive Rainfall Will Cause Minor Flooding To
Occur...Especially Along Small Streams And Near Low Water Crossings.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

In Hilly Terrain There Are Hundreds Of Low Water Crossings Which Are
Potentially Dangerous In Heavy Rain. Do Not Attempt To Travel Across
Flooded Roads. It Only Takes A Few Inches Of Swiftly Flowing Water To
Carry Vehicles Away.
