.The Atmosphere Remains Quite Moist Across The Region Today. With
Moderate To High Instability Persisting...Thunderstorms Will
Develop By This Afternoon. Some Of These Thunderstorms Will
Produce Heavy Rainfall With The Potential For Flash Flooding. The
Area West Of The Rio Grande Looks Particularly Good For Flood
Potential As A Trough Of Low Pressure Aloft Over Eastern Arizona
Will Slowly Drift Over Western New Mexico This Afternoon.

Lakes...Southern Dona Ana County/Mesilla Valley...Southern Gila
Foothills/Mimbres Valley...Southern Gila Highlands/Black
Range...Southwest Desert/Lower Gila River Valley...Southwest
Desert/Mimbres Basin...Uplands Of The Bootheel And Upper Gila
River Valley. Flooding Is Possible Today Along Arroyos...Small
Streams...And Low Water Crossings. Also Ponding Or Swift Moving
Water Of Significant Depth Is Possible In Urban Areas.

* Until Midnight Tonight.

* Numerous Areas Of Rainfall Of One-Half To One Inch Of Rain Are
Likely...With A Few Areas Of One To Two Inches Possible.

* Normally Dry Arroyos And Streams Could Be Quickly Filled With
Fast Moving Water...Mud And Debris. Low Water Crossing
Roadways Could Become Impassable. Flooding Of Poorly Drained
Streets And Intersections Is Possible For Urban Areas.
