Red Paint Powwow Saturday and Sunday

Don't miss the Red Paint Powwow Saturday and Sunday. The event takes place at the Western New Mexico University Intramural Gym. The Indian Market opens at 9 a.m.; the Gourd Dance begins at 11 a.m.; and the Grand Entry is slated for 1 p.m. Vendors offering Native American arts and food welcome your browsing and buying.

Competitors in the dance and drum contests arrive from all over the country, and visitors from many states and a few foreign countries are usually in attendance.

The colorful event is a treat every year. Tickets are $10 a day, with $5 for seniors and children.

Spend the day and visit with friends.
