Silver City, New Mexico, June 20, 2014: The newest edition of Senior Resource Directory is now available thanks to the efforts of the Senior Life Cycle, a group of agencies, organizations, and community members addressing senior concerns in Grant County.

Senior Life Cycle Coordinator, Connie Hostetler said, "I've seen other senior resource directories around the country; they are so full of advertising that it's impossible to find anything. We keep our version simple, up-to-date and readily available."

The Senior Life Cycle has spent months researching, compiling and editing the directory to tailor it specifically for the needs of local seniors. The Directory's entries cover in-home care, housing, support groups, legal aid, health care, education, and more. The Directory was originally created eight years ago in partnership with Hidalgo Medical Services Family Support Centers, the Senior Life Cycle and the Grant County Community Health Council.

Executive Director of Community Access Television of Silver and KOOT-FM, Lori Ford was astounded with the results of the Senior Life Cycles efforts, "I can read the entries without my glasses and the directory covers diverse topics seniors need to know about."

Hostetler said this newest update saw "lots of agency changes and shifts this last year in services for seniors." She also added that "Although transportation section has several entries the utilization seems to be an issue. The Senior Life Cycle will be following up on that issue."

Hostetler adds, "The community uses and appreciates it so much, it thrills the members of the Senior Life Cycle who work so hard on this directory. I love it when someone says you need a senior resource directory. I think it is great to see the community so aware of the directory."

Most importantly, the directory is available in print. "Our seniors can have it in hand and not have to interface with the internet to get the information," says Hostetler.

The Senior Life Cycle is a community action team of the Grant County Community Health Council, the Health and Wellness Planning Authority of the Grant County Board of Commissioners, and is supported by Gila Regional Medical Center.

The Senior Life Cycle next meets on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. at the Health Council's office, 214 N. Black St. The public is urged to attend. The Senior Directory is available at the Health Council office or for download at www.gcchc.org. For more information call (575) 388-1198.
