The Silver City Museum announces that Charmeine Wait will begin her new duties as Curator of Education on Jan. 23. She has served as the Silver City Museum Society's Store Manager/Bookkeeper for the past two years. "Through her leadership and keen knowledge of our southwest New Mexico market, store revenues have increased, providing additional support for museum programs and exhibits," a news release stated.

With her new duties, Wait will utilize years of experience in managing non-profit programs to expand the museum's connection with the community and provide a destination for schools, families and visitors to our region.

Her change in position leaves a vacancy in a "vital activity that keeps the museum going forward," the release stated. Over the next few weeks, the museum society will conduct a search to find a new museum store manager and bookkeeper.
