Washington, DC (January 15, 2013) – Today, U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce joined with the House of Representatives in reading the Constitution from the House floor.

“Today's reading was a great reminder of the principles that have governed this nation for over two centuries,” said Pearce.  “As Americans' freedoms increasingly come under fire from Washington's reckless expansion and fiscal irresponsibility, the Constitution is clear on the importance of limited government, enumerated powers, and liberty for all Americans.  I hope every member will take its words to heart as we serve the American people.”

Among others, Pearce read the Tenth Amendment, which places specific limits on the power of the federal government.

Video of the reading is available on the Congressman's YouTube channel.
