This is a six-week summer camp held at Western New Mexico University for incoming high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from southwest New Mexico. Students will explore educational pathways, tours of health care facilities, participate in sessions led by community professionals, medical students and residents, enhanced math, science and language curriculum, American College Testing (ACT) prep, service learning and First Aid, CPR and AED (defibrillator) certification.  Academy admission is free.  Public transportation will be provided at no charge, where available.  Snacks and lunches are included.  Each student will also receive a daily stipend, negating the need for summer employment.  Space is limited and admission will be based on a selection matrix. This free program is offered in partnership with the University of New Mexico and Western New Mexico University.  You can download the application at http://hsc.unm.edu/programs/diversity/hca.shtml .
