E. Highway 180 – Rio de Arenas Mobile Home Park
A named male is supposed to have a CTW from this location/he is here and the manager doesn't want him in the trailer park. Pend for night shift.

Criminal trespass

Male ran down to the ditch/female in all black with him walking toward the bridge. Officer had contact with the female on the south side of the Food Basket parking lot and issued her an indefinite CTW for Food Basket.

Shoplifting
100 N. Rosedale Road
Male in a white Dodge work truck took a few bottles of Patron. Officer investigating.

Larceny
West Street
Caller advised a few packages stated delivered but never received. Officer en route to post office/speaking with caller.

Caller advised she received a call from a named subject that something was going on/caller and a counselor responded to the address/male is having a seizure and is blocking the doorway to the residence. Officer requested ambulance. EMS1 advised clear with signed refusal.

Shoplifting
1101 Tom Foy Blvd.
Female in a black hoodie stole a bottle of liquor and left about five minutes ago. Officer needs to view footage.

SC Public Safety Officers Urge Extra Caution to Ensure a Safe and Happy Holiday Season

Silver City --  Silver City Chief of Police, Freddie Portillo, and Fire Chief Milo Lambert are once again urging residents to take extra care to avoid thefts, traffic citations and even personal injury.  The holidays may be merry, but also fraught with added stress, and more opportunity for local burglaries, larceny and theft, not to mention increased fire safety hazards. Both offered tips for a safe, secure holiday season.

"First, drivers need to slow down and pay attention to driving," said Chief Portillo. "Officers are being very proactive, watching for speeding motorists, people rolling through stop signs or trying to beat red traffic lights.  We will be citing unsafe drivers, heavily enforcing DWIs, and conducting selective traffic enforcement patrols throughout the holiday season. So slow down, obey traffic signs and signals and help keep everyone safe this holiday season."

Wilderness District office closed Friday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2023

All offices to be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

SILVER CITY, NM, Dec. 19, 2023 – The Gila National Forest, Wilderness Ranger District will be closed from noon through the end of the day on Friday, December 22.

All Gila National Forest offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 for Christmas, and Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day. Offices will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, Dec. 26, and again on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
