(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) — As the monsoon season reaches its peak, PNM is encouraging customers to sign up to receive outage alerts by email, text or phone, a new option PNM added with the launch of its enhanced website earlier this year.

"We work to provide dependable power around the clock, but during storm season it's good to be prepared. If your power does go out, PNM outage alerts will keep you updated," said Wayne Frye, PNM customer service director.

With PNM outage alerts, customers will receive a message by phone, email or text, depending on their preference, whenever there is a known outage at their home or business. The message will include an initial estimate for power restoration and additional messages if the restore time changes by more than 30 minutes. Customers will also receive a final message when power is restored. PNM customers should always report their outage first by phone or online to be certain the company knows about it and can respond, said Frye.

Sign up for outage alerts at PNM.com/outage or by calling PNM at 888-DIAL PNM (888-342-5766).

Visit PNM's outage map at PNM.com/outage for outage information 24/7. Like PNM on Facebook.com/pnmelectric or follow @PNMtalk on Twitter for information about outages, safety, energy-saving programs and more.

With headquarters in Albuquerque, PNM is the largest electricity provider in New Mexico, serving 500,000 customers in dozens of communities across the state. PNM is a subsidiary of PNM Resources, an energy holding company also headquartered in Albuquerque. For more information, visit PNM.com.
