Yvonne M. Chavez, 58, a lifelong resident of Deming, passed away Sunday March 9, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Visitation will be this Friday, March 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a prayer vigil will begin at 7 o’clock led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday morning at 10 at St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez-Escalera, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Yvonne was born September 11, 1955 in Deming to Willie and Catalina Flores Morales. She grew up in Deming and was a floral designer for the last 27 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friend’s and was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Daniel A. Chavez of Deming, her mother, Catalina Flores Morales of Deming; children, Amanda Carrasco and Brianna Chavez of Deming, Tammi Hayes of Newport News, Virginia, brother, Willie Morales Jr. of Deming; sisters, Yolanda Morales and Helen Morales of California, Julie Luna (Salomon) of Albuquerque, Marty Garcia (Albert) of Roswell, Dodo Teague (Leon) of Deming; and 4 grandchildren, Tiana Hayes, Victoria Carrasco, Tathan Hayes and Taliyah Hayes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her father Willie G. Morales.

Pallbearers will be Tiaqunia Hayes, Enrique Viramontes, Ernest Lopez, Cam Teague, Leon Teague, and Chevy Teague. Honorary bearers are her four grandchildren whom she adored.
