Demetrio “Mike” Jaure Sr. 88, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Friday, March 14, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

He was born June 10, 1925 in Las Vegas, NM to Felix and Gonzaita Maestas Jaure.  Demetrio proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp.  He was a WWII veteran.  His battles and expeditions were action at Saipan, Marianas Islands, Tinian, Iwo Jima and Volcano Islands.  He also owned and operated Mike’s Tires in Arenas Valley.  He was well known by many and will be deeply missed by all. 

He is survived by his companion, Ernestina Dominguez; seven sons, Joe Jaure (Graciela) of Tucson, AZ; Albert Tafoya (Susie) of Silver City; Manuel Jaure (Karen) of Silver City; Ramon Jaure (Alice) of Silver City; Freddy Hernandez (Gloria) of Los Lunas; Mike Jaure (Kourtney) of Deming; Demetrio Jaure IV of Deming; seven daughters, Nellie Beckor (Howard) of Roswell; Mary Quesada companion Victor Jasso of Albuquerque; Isabell Jaure of Las Cruces; Dolores Alirez of Anchorage, AK; Celeste Norris of Missoula, MT; Blanca Jaure of Silver City; Donna Jaure of Albuquerque; fifty-six grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Inez, Janet, June, Angie, Lucille, Eleanor and Debbie; one brother, Johnny Martinez of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Demetrio Jaure Jr., one daughter, Lupita Padilla; one brother, Joe.   

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Deacon Jerry Bustillos reciting.  The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, March 20 at 9:30am at St. Vincent Catholic Church with Father Rod Nichols officiating.  Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.  Pallbearers will be D.J. Jaure IV, Gabriel Martinez, Johnny Ray Tafoya, Daniel Kee, Manuel, Julian, Robby and Joseph Jaure.  Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Jaden Rubio and Raven Kee and Naomi Norris.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
