Veronica G. Hill, 94, a lifelong resident of Silver City, NM was called to eternal rest on Friday, March 14, 2014. 

She was born July 9, 1919 in Silver City, NM to Jesus Cabrera Gonzales and Matea Ornelas Gonzales.  On June 6, 1942, she married the late Mr. Lupe V. Hill.  Mrs. Hill enjoyed the gardening of her roses, apple and peach trees alongside of her husband, even receiving yard of the month from the Town of Silver City.  Her passions were taking care of her family and always with a warm and helpful hand.  At the age of 60 years, she and her husband brought their grandson Rene into their home to raise after the passing of his mother. 

She is survived by her son, Richard G. Hill of Española, NM; two grandsons, Gilbert C. Hill of Santa Fe; Lupe "Rene" Hill and wife Jessica and three great-granddaughters, Veronica Lyn, Aurora Norine and Savanna Leigh Hill of Silver City; her youngest sister, Consuelo "Connie" Vallejos.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lupe; brother, Steve Gonzales, sister, Reyna G. Mora and daughter-in-law, Nadine C. Hill.  At family’s request cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory.  A Graveside Service will take place Thursday, March 20 at 1pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Deacon Bill Holguin officiating.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory "Trusted care for the ones you love" ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
