Louisa Montes Martinez, entered eternal rest March 19, 2014 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation beginning at 5 O’clock in the evening on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary recited at 6 by Carmen Terrazas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 9:30 in the morning at Saint Francis Newman Center with Father Tony Basso officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

She was born December 17, 1927 in Silver City to Manuel and Antonia Montes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She really enjoyed making ceramics.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Rosemary Hernandez and husband Juan of Tulsa, OK, Mary Jane Martinez and companion Felix of Tulsa, OK and Elizabeth Woods and husband Lino of Bayard. She is also survived by 5 sisters Mary Salazar (AZ), Evelyn Pino (Silver City), Nora (Daniel) from Texas, Lydia (Harold) from Colorado, Epifania Hernandez (AZ); 2 brothers Luciano Montes (Deming) and Sammy Montes (Silver City); 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Raymundo Martinez in 2000, daughter Gracie in 1955, son-in-law Jimmy Martinez 2002, sisters Leonidas, Lucy and Ruth, brothers Ben, Fred and Joe.

Serving has pallbearers are James Woods, Joe Woods, Juan Hernandez Jr., Alicia Duron, Margaret Woods and Jose Rubio. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren, family and friends.
