Marcella Lucy (Caballero) Rutz, 70, former Deming resident and presently living in Bloomington, CA, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2014 from stroke related complications.

Visitation will begin Friday March 28, 2014 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel and the rosary service will be there at 7 o'clock led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Ann Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Father Ron Machado will officiate.

Marcella was born July 18, 1943 in Santa Rita to Lucinda Perrault and Arturo Caballero. She is a 1961 graduate of Deming High School and that summer she married Ronald Rutz and moved to California where she has made her home and raised her family. Marcella worked as a bi-lingual teacher's aide for 30 years and was recently retired. She was also a lector at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and taught catechism for many years. Her life centered around her children and grandchildren and her home was always open to many. Her gregarious outgoing personality, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be missed by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald E. Rutz; 3 sons, Ken Rutz, Patrick Rutz and wife Lisa, Steven Rutz and wife Dianne; daughter, Anne Hadaway and husband, Rob; 10 grandchildren, Katrina, Rebekah, Kristen, Stephanie, Lane, Jonathan, Hannah, Amy, Robyn and Robert (Bubba). Also, surviving Marcella are five sisters and one brother, Bertha, Art Jr., Nancy, Rita, Manuelita and Loretta, along with her YaYa Sisters, Linda, Lorry and Bona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo Caballero and Lucinda (Perrault) Caballero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ken, Patrick, Steven and Jonathan Rutz, Rob and Robert Hadaway.
