Helen M. Garcia, 68, a resident of Lordsburg passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening June 17, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lordsburg at 5 O'clock where a prayer vigil will begin at 6 led by Alice Ramirez. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 10 O'clock in the morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father John Weber, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and interment followed at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Helen was born February 17, 1946 in Morenci, Arizona to Niebes and Andrea (Flores) Martinez. She enjoyed watching Novelas and the Dallas cowboys play, reading and listening to music on the radio, crocheting blanket items for her loved ones, especially baby blankets for her grandchildren. She continued that tradition of crocheting blankets for her great-grandchildren. She loved anything to do with Elvis Presley and was very proud of her Elvis collection. The most enjoyment in her life was when her children gathered to visit her.

She is survived by her husband Domingo P. Garcia; 7 daughters Valerie Dominguez and her husband Abel, Marie and Lisa Martinez, Melissa Delgado, Sara Gonzales, Doris and Samantha Garcia; 2 sons George Martinez and his wife Bernadette and Tony Garcia and his wife Devonne, 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Niebes and Andrea Martinez, sister Dolores Baker, brothers; Antonio, Martin and Frank Martinez and son Jesse Garcia.

Serving as pallbearers were George Martinez, Brandon and Jesse Garcia, Nick Dominguez, Anthony Delgado and Gabriel Gonzales.
