Laverne  Ina  Marie Jackson, 80, a Silver City resident, entered into Eternal peace on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 surrounded by the loving family.

Visitation will be held at 9 O'clock in the morning Friday, July 11, 2014 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. A funeral service will follow with Minister Duane Springer officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.

She was born January 31, 1934 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas to William (Bill) and Dora Dixson. Marie married the love of her life, Clayton R. Jackson November 29, 1948. She was incredibly talented. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, sewing, writing songs and beautiful poems. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband of 66 years, her children, grandchildren, friends and family. She was a member of the Bayard Street Church of Christ.

Marie is survived by her husband Clayton Jackson; four sons; Allan Jackson, wife Terri of Silver City, NM., Clay Jackson wife Billie of Tucson, AZ., Charlie (Lee) Jackson of El Paso, TX., Jerry Jackson, Becky Jackson of Rock Springs WY.; two daughters; Barbara Hart, husband Patrick of Silver City, NM., Rita Jenkins, husband Marshall of Hobbs, NM., two sisters; Geneva Jackson of Fisher, AR and Nellie Mae Collins of Harrison AK., Eleven grandchildren; Brian Pierce (Glenda) of Spokane, WA., Crystal Woods of Silver City, NM., Tammy Sherfield (Adam) of Ardmore, OK., Jim Jackson Jr. (Tiffany) of Palm Bay, Fl.,Michelle Parker (Joel) Pearland, TX., Sheri Jackson of Rock Springs WY., Jason Jackson (Dusti) of Albuquerque, NM., Ray Jackson of Rock Springs, WY., Sidney and Tyler Jackson of Tucson, AZ., Juanita Jordon (Kent) of Rock Springs, WY., 22  great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law.

Marie is preceded in death by her one son; Jimmy L. Jackson Sr., her parents William and Dora Dixson, two sisters; Thelma Neldon and Lanora Dixson, her brother O.E. Dixson and grandson John Pierce.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allan, Lee, Jerry, Clay and Jason Jackson and Marshall Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Pierce, Jim Jr., Ray and Tyler Jackson, Adam Sherfield and Patrick Hart.
