Jack H. Sherman, 86, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

He was born April 16, 1928 in Globe, AZ to William T. and Gertrude Barnum Sherman.  He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.  He was a member of the Gila Fish and Gun Club, National Rifle Association and Arizona/New Mexico Trapper’s Association. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary McFarland Sherman of the family home; one son, Robert Sherman and wife Cheryl of Superior, AZ; three daughters, Jeannette Shepard and husband George of Silver City, Marcia Wolf of Las Cruces, Sandra Wooten and husband Jeff of Las Cruces; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nephew, Bill Sherman and wife Charlotte of Silver City; one brother, Franklin Sherman of Las Cruces; one sister, Ann Henry of WA. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy Sherman. 

In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Horizon Hospice 2584 N. Silver St. Bldg A Silver City, NM 88061. 

A Graveside Service will be celebrated Friday, July 25 at 2 pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.  Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
