Nita Mae Waddell Perry, 89, of Virden, New Mexico

Nita Mae Waddell Perry, 89, of Virden, New Mexico, peacefully entered into rest on December 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Nita was born in Duncan, Arizona where she met and married her husband of 61 years. They raised their 5 children in the Mojave Desert of California where she owned and operated a hair salon and her husband worked for NASA at Edwards Air Force Base. In 1985, they retired to the mountains of New Mexico, splitting their time between their home at Quemado Lake and Hurley. She was a staple in the community and enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time outdoors. She was an avid, self-taught crafter, quilter, seamstress, and crochet artist. She was a natural teacher and shared and taught all her talents with family and friends. She volunteered for the Catron County Search and Rescue team for many years.
Amber Lee Simpson, 36, a resident of Silver City, NM

Amber Lee joined her father, Drew Simpson, grandmother, Alicia V. Ybarra, uncle, Eddie Joe Ybarra and auntie, Dora in Heaven on Christmas morning, December 25, 2023. Amber was a beautiful woman who met life's struggles with the strength of a survivor.
Amber was a wonderful mother to the love of her life, her son, Joseph. They had an amazing bond and spent many hours together. They were each other's best friend.
Amber leaves her son Joseph a brother Jeremy and sister-in-law, Kori Ybarra, her mother Jo Ann Ybarra, uncle Steve, aunts Norma, Stella and Patty, along with each of their families. Amber adored her grandpa Adolfo E. Ybarra (Dofie) and her nieces and nephews.
We're gonna miss you Mimi, until we meet again, love you mom and Joseph.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels. A celebration of life and memorial service will take place at Ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. Officiating will be Dr. Gilbert Arizaga.

Robert Warren Conner, Jr., 94, a resident of Silver City, NM

Bob Conner, age 94, walked up the steps of Heaven to be with the Lord on December 9, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home with two of his grandchildren by his side.
Bob was born on May 17, 1929, in Roswell, New Mexico to Robert and Faye Conner. He grew up in Hagerman and graduated from Arizona State University. He proudly served as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army from 1951 to 1954 and made a career as an office manager of Bogle Farms in Dexter, NM. He resided in Silver City for the last 20 years. He was involved in many organizations throughout Arizona and New Mexico including Lions, Shriners and was a lifetime Elks member. He loved traveling in his 5th wheel “rig”, cruises, and other activities where he enjoyed taking photos of his travels.

Jesus "Ponchito" Delgado, 37, a resident of Deming, NM

It is with a heavy heart we share the sudden loss of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew Jesus Delgado (Ponchito), who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
The viewing will begin at four thirty in the afternoon with the recitation of the Holy Rosary following at six on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at ten in the morning on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at St Ann’s Catholic Church with the rite of committal and interment following at Mountain View Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Carlos Delgado, Pepe Torres, Saul Apodaca, Jose Tarango, Leroy Ayala, Tommy Gonzalez, Gibby Villegas, and Henry Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Delgado, Jesus Nieto, David Padron, Emilio Jimenez, Martin Zuniga & Javi Paul.
Ponchito was born in Deming, New Mexico on April 20, 1986 to Jesus and Anna Delgado. Ponchito was a very loving and caring person that enjoyed activities with his family and friends. He also loved splurging on the little ones who knew him as uncle Chet and would often do things to make them feel special. Ponchito lived life to the fullest and was always willing to accept a challenge.

Miguel Angel Rangel Padilla, 26, Deming resident passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 25, 2023.
A viewing will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10 o’clock in the morning till 2:30 in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3 at Mountain View Cemetery where Miguel will be laid to rest. Serving as pallbearers will be Cynthia Garza, Vanessa Garza, Rogelio Garza, Abelardo Contreras, David Lucero, Jose Emilo Lopez, and Genieve Rivera.
Miguel was born March 24, 1997 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Jose Luz Rangel Padilla and Virginia Alfaro. Miguel was a very loving, caring, and outgoing person who loved to joke around with his friends and family. Anyone he met or came across; he always had a nickname for them and a joke to go along with it. He enjoyed the many things in life that came his way. Miguel was a fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, he loved to listen to music and enjoyed cooking and was a very good cook to say the less. He also enjoyed vehicles, all types. But what he really loved the most was his family, especially his nieces and nephews who he looked at and loved as his own children. The sudden loss of our beloved Miguel has hurt us tremendously and he will truly be missed by his many friends and family. May he rest in Gods Kingdom.
