David Morales, 80, a resident of Tucson, AZ

MoralesDavid David Morales, loving son of Carlos and Genoveva (Flores) Morales of Santa Rita, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Tucson, Arizona on August 28th, after a 2- year battle with Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his ex-wife, Delia, and their four daughters Cynthia (Jim) of Queen Creek, AZ; Patricia of Mesa, AZ; Michele of Tucson, AZ; Amy (Xzavier), of Las Vegas, NV and ten grandchildren: Gregory, Daniela, David, Katherine, Jonathan, Juan IV, Dominic, Josué, Julian and Geneveive and two great grandchildren Jonathan and Sophie.

David was a proud veteran of the Air Force and had a long career as an Engineer with Honeywell. He spent his retirement years in Heber, Arizona where he loved the outdoors and cool weather. David lived a long, happy life and was loved by all that knew him and always spoke fondly of his beloved brothers and sisters; Luis (Ramona, decd.), Danny (Irene), Frank (Anita), Rosie (Paz), Josie (Ralph), Henry (Decd.), Sookie (Alex), Lola (Horace), Lora (Henry). David’s spirit joins his son David Anthony; both are with the Lord now. May they rest in peace

Betty Vanover, 98, of Silver City passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Antonio M. Holguin, 81, a resident of Silver City, NM

HolguinAntonioAntonio M. Holguin, 81, passed away on September 1, 2023 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces, NM after battling numerous of illnesses. Antonio was born on August 16,1942 to Pete and Frances Holguin in Silver City, NM.  After completing high school, Antonio met Gloria (Wife) they fell in love instantly and were lifelong partners. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.  They had seven children. Teresa Holguin (Bayard NM), Tony Holguin (Vegas, NM) Bernice Ramos (Sony) Las Cruces NM, Patricia Chavez (Fernando) Lordsburg NM, Sonya Alvarado (Ralph) Hanover NM, Alex Holguin an Irene Holguin. Antonio had 17 Grandchildren and 44 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Holguin of Santa Clara, NM; his five sisters, Rita Rogers (John) Silver City, NM, Espy Chavez (Charles) Santa Clara, NM, Christy Chavez (Raymond) N.Hurley, NM, Elvira Casares of Los Angeles, CA, Mary Madrid of Hurley, NM.

Antonio was passionate for hunting, fishing and wood carving. Anyone who knew Antonio knew that he was the most loving father, husband and grandfather. Antonio was preceded by his wife Gloria Holguin, Son Alex Holguin, Daughter Irene Holguin, Granddaughter Victoria Ramos Grandson Javier Ramos Jr., Sister Isabel Luna, sister Soledad Sandoval, his mother Frances Holguin, His Father Pete Holguin.

Michael Joseph Alderette, 71, a resident of Silver City, NM

AlderetteMMichael Joseph Alderette, 71, after a long hard battle with health issues, he circum to it and entered into eternal rest August 27th, 2023 @ Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces, NM. He leaves behind the love of his life (whom he met at age 16) soul mate and wife of almost 53 years (November) Mary, with whom he shared 5 of the most beautiful kids.  Two sons, Michael “Mikey” Alderette Jr. (Rita) three kids, Michael III, Viviana, Estrella Alderette of Silver City; Mark Alderette (Lorraine) four kids, Dominique, Isaiah, Sebastain, and Bella Escobar of Silver City; three daughters, Anna Triviso (Jaime) five kids, Adriana Barragan, Mario J. Barragan, Jaime Jr., Davina, and Xavier Triviso of Hurley; Rosanna Paiz-Alderette (Chris) six kids, Randall and Alex Gonzales, Matthew Villegas, Daniel, Danielle, and Aiyana Graziano of Deming; Jennifer Peralta (John) three kids, Ariana and Marisela Rodriguez, Mason Peralta of Tucson, AZ; 10 cuter great grand kids; two brothers, Jimmy Alderette of Las Cruces; Rocky Diaz of El Paso, TX; two sisters, Maxine Jaurequi and husband Frank of Las Cruces; Velma Vargas of Silver City, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Alderette and Dora Diaz Alderette-Melendrez; one sister, Lenore Alderette; one nephew, James Alderette.
