Chocolate Fantasia 2013: Along the Milky Way

Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 11am – 4 pm

Take your part in Silver City’s annual homage to the beautiful bean: Theobroma cacao or the cacao bean that is the source of chocolate! At a dozen or more locations throughout Historic Downtown, you can sample the best of Grant County’s confectioners, whose recipes range from the tried-and-true to the daring. Note: This event sells out annually, so get your tickets early to savor the flavor!

Join the fun: Stroll galleries, shops, and greet old friends or make new friends while sampling delicious, gourmet chocolate confections. Handmade and beautifully displayed in local galleries and shops in the downtown Arts and Cultural District. Local musicians will be performing at many locations!

One of the best times to visit Silver City in southwestern New Mexico is around Valentine’s Day, especially during the annual Chocolate Fantasia gala. This year’s gala starts at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 9 in Silver City and lasts until 4:00 p.m. “Chocolate Stop” maps and empty Valentine boxes ($2.00 each for collecting your chocolates) will be available at Chocolate Fantasia Headquarters at the Silco Theater on Bullard Street. The gourmet chocolates are created locally.

A $20 Sampling Ticket allows you to choose a free gourmet chocolate from 20 of the Chocolate Stops. A delicious way to spend a day! And, this year, we added some fun, family twists including live music, a cosmic parade and more events to be announced.
