Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation Receives Federal Financing to Expand Housing and Business Opportunities in Southern NM

(December 12, 2011 Albuquerque, NM) USDA Rural Development State Director Terry Brunner announced today, Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation Inc. (TDS) of Anthony, New Mexico will receive over $700,000 in financial support to provide the supervision of the construction of new homes and to repair five homes owned by the elderly. TDS is also being loaned money to develop business opportunities in the southern part of the state.
 
The funding for the housing projects is administered by Rural Development’s housing program through a $118,308 Housing Preservation Grant. That money will be used to rehabilitate and repair five homes in Doña Anna County and the City of Lordsburg.  TDS is also receiving a $486,695 grant to administer the construction of 36 Self Help homes in the Berino area.  This project will see the individual homeowners do the majority of the construction of the homes under the guidance of TDS.
 
Tierra Del Sol is also receiving a $167,000 Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) grant through Rural Development’s business program. This money will be used to provide low interest loans to public and non-profit organizations which will use the money for business and community development in southern New Mexico.

Where?     Parque Home Subdivision in Berino, NM west of the south frontage road.  Go to the Vado exit and go south on the west frontage road. Just before getting to Berino you will see the Parque Home Subdivision sign. Turn west and go to the home the the flags in front of it.
