In the past week, three prominent New Mexicans-- Alan Webber, entrepreneur and policy activist, Tim Eichenberg, New Mexico's State Treasurer; and Dr. Felipe de Ortego y Gasca, distinguished Professor Emeritus in English and Literature and Chicano movement pioneer--endorsed Mary Hotvedt and her campaign for the District 38 Seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives, formerly held by Dianne Hamilton.

Alan Webber, co-founder of Fast Company Magazine and former Democratic candidate for Governor in New Mexico believes in nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation and connecting New Mexicans statewide. He considers Mary Hotvedt to be the right candidate at the right time for NM House of Representatives District 38. In his endorsement, he said GǣMary Hotvedt has the values, experience and character we need in the legislature. She cares about helping people, creating jobs, protecting our environment and improving schools'the right agenda for New Mexico's future. I'm giving her my enthusiastic endorsement!Gǥ

Tim Eichenberg worked closely with Hotvedt when he was running for State Treasurer and she was the Chair of the Democratic Party in Grant County. GǣShe is committed to democratic values and policy; she possesses the skills and knowledge to energize and organize citizens to work for those values. She will bring these assets to the New Mexico Legislature for the good of District 38 and for the State of New Mexico,Gǥ he stated.

Dr. Felipe de Ortego y Gasca, is an active member of the Democratic party and is one of the pioneers in the Chicano movement. He said this about Hotvedt:

GǣDr. Mary Hotvedt is one of those rare individuals it has been my good fortune to know both professionally and personally. But it's in her civic role that her acumen as a leader stands out. She was stalwart in her role as Chair of the Democratic Party of Grant County, a leadership position she held for several terms.

She brings ... an intellect steeped in broad areas of interest and curiosity, disclosing a highly motivated and reflective person. She's eclectic in her interests, passionate in her defense of social justice, and thoughtful in her pursuit of solutions for the common good, evident in her words and deeds on behalf of all the political constituencies not only of New Mexico State District 38 but the entire state, region and nation. Gǣ
