Frank Gomez was raised in Tyrone, NM and is a graduate from Silver High School. After completing high school he volunteered and served in the US Army. Once his enlistment was completed Frank Gomez returned to Grant County, NM.

After returning from military service he worked with APT Security and then went on to work at the Hurley Smelter. During the closing of the Hurley Smelter, he decided to seek a career in public safety to serve his community. He obtained a position as a School Resource Officer/Patrolman with the Bayard Police Department. During that time he completed the Basic Police Academy in Santa Fe, NM.

After 2 -+ years with the Bayard Police Department he continued his law enforcement career with the Grant County Sheriff's Department, due to the fact he felt he could be a better service to his community. Presently Frank Gomez holds the position of Sergeant in the Patrol Division and also coordinates the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program. He is active with the youth in the community by being involved as a coach in several sports. He is presently residing in Bayard for the past seventeen years.

Frank Gomez continued to seek ways in being involved with the youth in the Mining District. This gave him the motivation to run for the Cobre School Board in 2008. He has served two consecutive terms as a Cobre School Board Member and is seeking to continue his public service by serving a third consecutive term with the Cobre School Board.

Frank Gomez is married to Yvonne Gomez and has two daughters who graduated from Cobre High School and also has three sons who are attending Cobre High School. Frank Gomez would like to thank the community for their support and the confidence they instilled in him.
