Joseph Bizzell, Public Regulation Commission Candidate, Embarks on Three Week Journey to Help those Impacted by Hurricane Irma

September 8, 2017: New Mexico resident, Joseph Bizzell, has been asked to travel to Florida in anticipation of the most devastating hurricane to hit the coast in decades in order to develop and implement a plan to help Floridians restore power to their homes and businesses. Joseph has nearly two decades of experience working with utilities – specializing in high voltage electrical services. Joseph started his career working with his family business building distribution lines that brought power to hundreds of people in his community:

“I am honored that I’ve been asked to help our neighbors in Florida. In the past, I’ve worked to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy and those of the Albuquerque Microburst. I’m no stranger to this type of situation and my main focus is ensuring we can get the lights back on for those affected by this storm.

“When I served in the Navy, I saw first-hand the devastating impact these storms can have and if my experience can help others – I want to be there on the front lines.

“This is about working together - and remembering that we all are Americans and in times of need we need to come together,” said Joseph Bizzell.

Joseph Bizzell is a lifelong resident of New Mexico. He grew up in Belen and currently lives in Los Lunas with his wife Andrea, and their daughter, Bella.

“If I can bring my background and experience to help the citizens impacted by this storm, basically, if I can help keep their lights on and restore power– then my place is there to help,” added Bizzell.

Joseph is also running for the Public Regulation Commission – District 5. The Public Regulation Commission impacts local utility rates as well as commercial transportation, tow-truck services, and ambulance services.

Joseph will be documenting his journey via Facebook live and he plans to serve in Florida for the next three weeks. For more information or to follow Joseph live please contact – Megan Wells for more details.
