Situation:  Crews from Silver City, VFDs and the US Forest Service are responding to a fire on McKenny Road near the old Quail Ridge Fire area near Silver City. Due to gusty winds, the fire has grown to an estimated 60 acres. Additional resources have been brought in. The fire is buring toward the east through rugged, inaccessible terrain Three structures are threatened at this time and have been evacuated. A helicopter from the USFS is also responding.
