In a 3:20 p.m. update, it has been decided to close the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, in addition to the Visitor Center, through the weekend. According to a spokeswoman, the decision was made out of caution that another similar incident might occur to send flood waters and debris over the roads leading to the monument and the Visitor Center. Both may open Monday, pending an evaluation of the situation.
