The 2013 Grant County Fair, which is dedicated to Ron Lamb and for the Junior LIvestock Sale to Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. continues this evening (Thursday) with the Lawley Ford Ranch Rodeo. Today was pig show day.

Friday will start off with a pancake breakfast, sponsored by Grant County Farm Bureau, followed by a tractor show, team roping and the sheep show in the show ring, , followed by the junior goat show and not to be missed, the peewee lambe show.

Exhibits, which were judged Thursday morning, can be seen in the Exhibit Hall. Everything from cherry tomatoes to enormous cabbages and pumpkins to crafts, created by youths and adults, and fine arts, including oil paintings and photography, also by the younger set and adults, are on display in the large hall.

Friday afternoon will find the poultry being judged. Jericho Country Gospel Band will paly on the Slab from 4:30-7 p.m. The snekeder Enterprises LLC Rough Stock/Casper Baca True American Tour Rodeo will be in the Buster Shelly Arena, followed by dancing on the Slab to the Yarbrough Band.

Saturday is always a big day at the rodeo, with a tractor show, a junior rodeo and then the heifer, steer and county-bred calf shows on tap for the day. In between the heifer and steer show will be rabbit judging. At noon will be a horseshoe tournament, at 1, a showmanship context, and at 3 p.m., the junior livestock sale in the show ring. Another rodeo will take place at 7:30, with open ranch bronc riding, and the evening will top off with dancing to the Yarbrough Band again.

Sunday will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a church service led by Floyd Robertson. A livestock judging contest will be held at 9 .m., the exhibit hall will be open until 1 p.m., a peewee pig show will be in the show ring from 9-11; and at noon, exhibits sweepstakes award presentations will be held.
