The Southwest Festival of the Written Word wound down today in Silver City. The three-day event brought writers from the area, as well as from Arizona and Texas, to participate in workshops, listen to individual and panel speakers, vist the Marketplace where books were sold and signed, and network with other writers.

At the mystery writers workshop, where three published authors—Steve Havill, Jonathon Miller and Susan Cummins Miller—spoke, Jonathon Miller said the turnout was better than at the last event he had been part of in Albuquerque.

From all reports during the day on Satuday, everyone from vendors to speakers to participants and organizers were pleased with the success of the event.
