An exhbit of photos of old bands and musical groups from the area from 50 or so years ago—the "yesterday" of the exhibit's title—is on display at the Silver City Museum.

The Chicano Music Project is working with the Silver City Museum to present a selection of photographs and memorabilia from the original 2013 exhibit and viewings of the DVD movie, Parece Que Fue Ayer: A Celebration of Grant County Chicano Musicians.

The opening included a gallery talk by Professor Patricia Cano, Professor of Chicano Studies at Western New Mexico University; viewings of the movie, “Parece Que Fue Ayer;” and music from a special CD recording, “Nuestra Herencia Chicana.”

Brian Freeman was on hand at the reception. He and his wife were instrumental in preserving and reproducing the photos, which were also on display as part of last year's Chicano Music Project.

The exhibit will remain on view through July 20, 2014.
